2017 Student Ambassador Program
The Randolph County Chamber of Commerce Student Ambassador Program seeks to reach out to those youth who are the next generation of leaders in our community. Being a Student Ambassador prepares the students for constructive and responsible participation in community affairs as well as furthering the mission of the Randolph County Chamber of Commerce, which is to promote and perpetuate the business, commercial, manufacturing, the agricultural and civic interest of the surrounding territory.
Throughout the program, students explore our community – its resources, leadership needs, issues, and opportunities. They share ideas and learn what it takes to work together and to become decision-makers. They examine how to develop the abilities and skills needed to be responsible participants in community affairs. This program is designed to motivate students to think seriously about the role they’d like to play and the difference they can make in their community.
All interested students shall return their applications no later than Tuesday, October 10, 2017, to your principal’s office. All applications will be reviewed by the Randolph County Chamber of Commerce and maximum of 10 students (6 seniors and 4 juniors) will be selected between both Pocahontas High School and Maynard High School.
All SENIOR Student Ambassadors are eligible for the Randolph County Chamber of Commerce Student Ambassador Scholarship. One Senior Student Ambassador will be selected to receive a $500 scholarship based on the completion of all required tasks, as well as completing an essay on “What qualities make a great leader?”. All essays must be turned in no later than March 16, 2018.
All Student Ambassadors will be required to select and complete one community service project, individually or as a group. All Student Ambassadors are also required to be present and participate in the following Chamber of Commerce/community events:
