“Preparing Today for Tomorrow”

Pocahontas Public Schools are an integral piece of the Pocahontas community. Our schools work diligently to provide a safe, secure, and inviting atmosphere whereby our students are prepared today for tomorrow through both academic and extracurricular opportunities.

Academically, our students have historically performed in the top 30% of the state on the state’s criterion referenced exams per GPA rankings created by the University of Arkansas’s Office of Education Policy and Research department.

In regards to extracurricular opportunities, the district boasts excellent programs in athletics, vocal and instrumental music, Odyssey of the Mind, quiz bowl, chess, FFA, etc. During the 2016-2017 school year, the district saw state championships won by its Sr. Girls’ basketball, tennis, and track teams as well as its junior high quiz bowl team. In addition, the district had its first ever world champion Odyssey of the Mind team crowned during the world championships in Lansing, MI.

It is the goal of the district to ensure that each of its students is equipped with the skills and confidence needed to be successful in the next phase of their lives.
