Bigger Named NEA Intermodal Executive Director
Pocahontas, Arkansas (February 15, 2018) – The Northeast Arkansas Regional Intermodal Facilities Authority announced today that Graycen Colbert Bigger has been named as the agency’s new Executive Director. Bigger, who lives in Randolph County, is a communications and community development consultant with more than a decade of experience in the communications industry.
“I am excited and grateful for this new opportunity to represent the Northeast Arkansas Regional Intermodal Authority,” said Bigger. “This part of the state has strong potential for industry growth, and they have seen some large manufacturing, distribution and agricultural investments over the past few years. I look forward to working with community, business and agency leaders to bring new business to our regional area while making the intermodal authority a catalyst for substantial economic growth.”
Bigger will serve as the primary point of contact between NEARIFA and outside community, agency and organizational partners in all economic development endeavors. As executive director she will also oversee marketing efforts, lead meetings and build and maintain relationships with various political, industry and community leaders in an effort to stay informed on potential industry investments, local needs and economic trends.
Bigger is a graduate of the Arkansas State University with bachelor’s degrees in journalism and art, with concentrations in photojournalism and art history. She completed a MA in Art Business from Sotheby’s Institute of Art in New York in 2013. Bigger comes to the NEARIFA with more than ten years of communications experience, specializing in business and rural development. She also serves as the Director of Placemaking for the Cherokee Village Community Developer.
The Northeast Arkansas Regional Intermodal Facilities Authority (NEARIFA) was created in September 2009 through an act of the Arkansas State Legislature with the purpose of creating and promoting intermodal and multimodal assets in the region. Its mission is to create more and better employment opportunities for its region through the recruitment, expansion and retention of industry and business in each of its partnering entities, which include Lawrence and Randolph Counties along with the cities of Corning, Pocahontas and Walnut Ridge, Arkansas.
